EPHRAIM GRUBBS III
CHieF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Ephraim co-founded The Adjutant Group in 2009 and under his leadership TAG has grown from a local-based construction management (CM) firm to a full-service CM and General Contracting company covering the South East. Ephraim is actively involved in the day-to-day management of all aspects of TAG: developing goals, operating plans, corporate policies, short and long-term objectives, establishing organizational structure, advising other executives, and reviewing results of business operations.
Ephraim is a Licensed General Contractor in North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida and has more than 20 years of experience in development and construction of complex projects. He holds a Master in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, a Master in Business from Mississippi College, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from The Citadel Military College of South Carolina.
Ephraim holds the rank of Colonel in the North Carolina Army National Guard and has over 25 years of Military Service. He has also been an active Rotarian for more than 15 years and coaches a variety of local football, baseball and basketball teams.
CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER
Michael D. Tolson is an expert in the art, science and business of building. Since 1978, he has profitably designed, developed, budgeted, scheduled, supervised and managed scores of construction projects. His in-depth experience in residential, commercial and industrial construction includes mulit-million dollar homes, $12 million dollar rennovation projects and $20 million dollar new construction projects. Mike owned and operated Design Associates, an Architectural Design firm, for over 20 years. He has also owned and served as president of multiple general contracting companies with revenues over $100 million.
Mike joined The Adjutant Group in 2014 and serves as Partner and Chief Operations Officer. Every day, he is in the field managing project schedules, job costs and production quality. He oversees each project with the goal of developing mutually beneficial partnerships with clients, users, vendors and service providers.
A native of Wilmington, North Carolina, Mike has lived in Central Florida since 1972. He is an AIBD Certified draftsman and accomplished artist. Unreservedly, he credits his accomplishments to his faith, wife of 35 years, children and grandchildren.
CHIEF OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Hal Adkins has successfully developed business relationships for over 25 years. His career includes the development and management of several multi-million dollar contracts for Fortune-100 companies including Corporate Express, Air Touch and Anheuser-Busch. In 1992, he was honored as Anheuser-Busch's 'Business Developer of the Year' in Tennessee and, more recently, he spearheaded and managed national, multi-million dollar maintenance contracts in the freight/LTL industry.
Hal joined The Adjutant Group in 2014 and serves as Partner and Chief of Business Development. Each day, he is in close contact with our clients to ensure that TAG is meeting and exceeding their expectations. A Buckeye at heart, Hal is originally from Dayton, Ohio and attended Austin Peay State University with a four-year football scholarship. He holds a BS in Industrial Technology and is a proud member of Sigma Chi. Hal and his wife have lived in Central Florida since 1992 and are blessed with twins, a son and daughter. For over 8 years, Hal has been an active coach of local baseball, basketball and pop-warner football teams.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Renee co-founded The Adjutant Group in 2009. She handles all fiscal aspects of the company, including overseeing financial plans; AR and AP processing; accounting practices; cash management; insurances; bonding and tax and audit activities. Renee is also responsible for analyzing financial data, managing and directing relationships with business and financial vendors, and developing system improvements.
Prior to her appointment as CFO of The Adjutant Group, Renee held a variety of customer service and business banking positions with First Citizens Bank of North Carolina. Renee is treasurer/secretary of the David H. Grubbs Memorial Foundation, the mother of 4 boys, an active “team mom” and devoted wife. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of North Carolina – Wilmington (UNCW).
Renee and Ephraim were married in 1990. After living in North Carolina, South Carolina and Mississippi they settled in Central Florida in 2006.
